The FIA Awards Ceremony in Kigali was a historic event, marking the first time the prestigious awards were held in Africa. The ceremony took place on December 13, 2024, at the BK Arena, and was attended by notable figures including President Paul Kagame and FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem.

• Thierry Neuville and Martijn Wydaeghe earning Belgium's first World Rally Championship titles.
• Toyota GAZOO Racing continuing its dominance in endurance and rally raid competitions.
The ceremony also showcased Rwanda's contributions to motorsport, including the unveiling of the first FIA Level 2 Affordable Cross Car produced in Africa, built by Rwandan polytechnic students. President Kagame announced Rwanda's bid to host a Formula 1 Grand Prix, aiming to bring the sport's most prestigious race back to Africa after three decades.
It was a night of celebration, innovation, and recognition, highlighting the global impact and unity that motorsport can bring.
